Pursue: follow or chase after
Peace: calm, stillness, serenity, tranquility and harmony
Live peaceably with ALL people
Have you ever been around someone and all they want to do is cause drama and unrest? It almost as if they aren’t happy unless they are causing an upheaval. Christians are urged to pursue (chase after) peace (calm) and live peaceably with ALL people. Wow! That is hard to do when we are in the eye of the cyclone with a person who sucked us up in their chaos. It can change quickly if we hit the pause button, and we begin praying and asking God help us out of these uncomfortable situations, then ask Him to bring salvation, peace and calm back into their life and yours.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. 23. Meekness, temperance; against there is no such law. 24. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Turning a negative into a positive is easy when we speak the oracles of God
When we speak the oracles of God we are wise when we are filled with God’s Spirit. We will speak truth and know the peace that surpasses all understanding. We should get up every day desiring to be a peacemaker. Matthew 5: 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
God does not need our help, but we definitely need His
We need to pray and wait to see God’s fingerprint all over the situation. Believe me when God approves something it doesn’t sit on heavens desk, it is done with love, care, and the situation changes completely. God wants us to remain calm and continue to walk in the Spirit. If we blow a fuse then we are no different than the person we desire God to change.
Follow righteousness, faith, charity and peace
2 Timothy 2:22-26
23. Flee youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 24. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. 25. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging truth. 26. And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. Everyone can choose to live in peace. It is up to us how we choose to live. What is your choice today, peace or turmoil?
